Reflection for feedback of Dr. Nino

Last week, we posted a video introduction to Flipgrid, and Dr. Nino gave us some excellent feedback. Here is the link:  https://flipgrid.com/ea631520 . Summary of feedback: 1. Don't let the content filled full of the page, leave some space. 2. Use sentences instead of paragraphs. 3. Give a brief introduction to the purpose of the website and myself. 4. Add some videos for receipts.

Reflections on Vanessa's Review

Here is some suggestion from Vanessa: 1. Just make sure fonts, font sizes, and colors are uniform on all the interior pages. So headers will all be the same size, color, and font as each other. Each subheader will be the same size, color, and font as each other, etc. For example, on the Tips for Beginners page, the headers are in red, but there are no red headers anywhere else. So whether you stick with red or go with black, just make sure they're uniform across all the pages. 2. The script header font over the images is great! Just make sure they are the same size. For instance, the Tips for Beginners header is in a smaller font than the Explore Steak header. 3. As a general rule, don't use Comic Sans for something like this. It's dated and comes across as somewhat unprofessional on a website or app. Go with something like Arial, Verdana, etc. Yeah, they're basic, but they're easy to read on different devices, professional-looking, and everybody has the...

The blog post about “eLearning for school bus drivers.”

Through looking at the website of rail safety education, all the information is classified for target people. On the homepage, the content is for everyone. But if you want to dive more, you can click the button “info for.” For kids of different ages, it uses different stories to tell them how dangerous to play on the track and why they should stay away from the train. For school bus drivers, the critical thing is what they should do before crossing the railway instead of knowing what it is. For that consideration, it only used a few words and an image to explain the situation on the webpage. On the bottom of the webpage, there is an interactive test for school bus drivers to practice it until they pass the test and get the certificate. Also, it used many images instead of sentences to explain everything on the website. It helps to attract readers' attention and understand-friendly. I think I can use a similar way to express my idea, and it could be a chart to compare all dif...

Reflections from Dr. Joiner's Expert Review

Dr. Joiner give me some advice: To add more questions or sentences related to the content on the homepage to attract readers to explore more about the website. I will revise the content of my homepage to fit for it. A famous TV show name is "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills," so Dr. Joiner suggests me to change the title of my website to "The Real Steaks of Blacksburg" to make it more impressive than "Steaks in Blacksburg." I agree with that. List more details about how to cook steaks, such as the temperature. To add one more module for users to submit their secret/unique recipes and award the most popular one. I am still working on how to adjust this part to fit my CORE message. My core message is to  help people to select steak much easier.

Blog Post Week 7

Last week, we discussed my audience and focused on international people and anyone who is not familiar with steak shopping. I finished my survey and got eight responses, half of them come from China, two come from American, one come from South Korea, and another one comes from Saudi Arabia. Four of them do the weekly shopping, three of them do monthly shopping, one only buy steak once or twice a year, only one person never buys steak before. Seven people usually buy steak at the grocery store, and only one bought steak at VT meat center. All of them buy steak from the grocery store because the price is cost-effective. If the VT meat center could offer good quality of steak and price is affordable, they will choose to buy steak from there. Ribeye is the most welcome type of steak, and they fry it a lot. Some buy NY strip steak for grilling purposes. People would like to know the detail information about cuts of beef, cooking ti...
